Overview
This maintenance project is a whole of college maintenance arrangement for the lawns and gardens of the college.
PLSNQ took over the site as a Brownfield site from the previous contractor after negotiations directly with the college and commenced a condition recovery transformation across the entire college grounds.

Our goal and client aim were to provide Catholic Education, School and Student Body with a very well maintained, fresh and pleasant environment to study and relax within.

Scope of Work

• Provide routine and scheduled grounds maintenance services for lawns, competition grade sport fields and garden areas
• Provide adhoc and specialised services at the request of the college when required
• Visually monitor the grounds and buildings for damages, and other maintenance matters and report these items for further instruction by the college

Challenges

The main project challenges faced during our time on site are:

• Delivering services that are inherently noisy in a live education facility in a manner where disturbance to students is at a minimum
• Ensuring that works are sectioned off into zones to ensure that particular times of day – mostly student break times, that we are working in zones of the college that are student free for safety and other regulated constraints
• Short notice use of competition sport fields occasionally occurrence when external clubs book/notify the college last minute of weekend games etc resulting the need to on occasion conduct responsive lawnmowing of sport grounds for weekend game fixtures
• On occasion weather is a hinderance with parts of the ground subject to flooding by local natural water courses

The Result

The ultimate result has been a visually appealing yet practical and easy-care environment that will provide the school, students, sporting clubs and community with a pleasant environment for years to come.
