Overview

This project was a whole of playground upgrade entailing the removal of the previously existing play equipment and the install of all new equipment, and fresh certified playground sand and turf perimeter to the playground.

PLSNQ took on the site as a rundown (Brownfield) site condition and transformed it back to vibrant and appealing interactive area for student use.

Our goal and client aim were to provide Catholic Education, School and Student Body with a fresh and pleasant environment to play and relax within.

Scope of Work

• Demolition and removal of pre-existing play structure, sand and boarders.
• Site set out and preparation including post hole boring
• Installation new posts, interactive equipment, soft boarder edging and new certified playground sand
• Clean down and top dress work zone ready for certification inspection and hand back to school

Challenges

The main project challenges faced during our time on site were:

• Minor client indecisiveness at times during the progress of works regarding equipment heights and sizes as signed off on
• Confinement and constraint having to work around existing underground services as identified by ground radar scanning within the work zone
• Limitation of time of day when construction type noise was not permitted
• On occasion weather was a hinderance.
